Luther loses to coe in 10 innings - Series continues tomorrow

Luther lost its first game on its home field this afternoon by a score of 8-4 in 10 innings to Coe College. The Norse bats were silenced by Kohawk hurler Cody Raisch (5-3) who allowed just four hits in the complete game victory. At one point, Raisch retired 11 batters in a row. The Norse also committed three errors that led to three Kohawk runs.
Luther tied the game in the bottom of the eighth, when it scored three runs on two hits, capped off by a Jake Waddle double to left-center field that drove in two runs. Earlier in the frame, Chris Reynolds drove in a run with a double down the left field line.
The loss gives Luther an Iowa Conference record of 9-7, 21-11 overall. Coe, the only team in the league to already clinch a spot in the Iowa Conference Tournament, is now 13-6, 20-14 overall.
These two teams will complete the three-game series with a double header that is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. tomorrow.
