Luther finishes 10th at uw-eau claire invite

The Luther College men's golf team shot a two-day total of 315-336-651 and finished tenth at the Frank Wrigglesworth Blugold Invite hosted by UW-Eau Claire Sept. 27-28. The 14-team field played on the par 71, 6,680 yard Eau Claire Country Club.
St. John's University captured the team title finishing one stroke ahead of the University of St. Thomas and two strokes ahead of Gustavus Adolphus. The Johnnies carded a 626, while St. Thomas shot 627, followed by Gustavus at 628.
The only other Iowa Conference school in the field was Central College that finished one place behind Luther with a 653.
Individually, Ross Jacobucci posted rounds of 78-83 for a 161 finishing in a tie for 34th from the field of 79 golfers. One stroke behind was Jack McLeod and Aaron Smith at 162. Alec Schumacher carded a 167 and Alex Gaudian posted a 172. Reid Wilson, who played as an individual, shot 178.
The Norse have two more tournaments remaining on their fall schedule. On Oct. 4-5, Luther will defend their team title at the Milwaukee School of Engineering Invitational. The two-day tournament will be played on the Grand Geneva in Geneva, Wis.
Luther's final fall tournament will be the Gustavus Twin Cities Classic held Oct. 10-12.
