Luther and Macalester End Season Opener tied 0-0 after two overtimes

Luther kicked off its 2009 schedule with a 0-0 double overtime tie with Macalester College in St. Paul, Minn. this evening. Luther tallied three shots on goal during the 110 minutes of action, while the Scots never threaten the Norse goal keeper Steve O'Meara the entire evening.
The Norse return to action this Friday and Saturday when they will travel to Wheaton College (IL) for the Bob Baptista Invitational. The Norse will square off with #23 Wheaton on Friday night with a start time scheduled for 7:00 p.m. This match will be streamed live at www.wetn.org. Wheaton lost its season opener 3-1 to Wabash College this evening.
On Saturday, the Norse will play Judson University (IL) at 2:00 p.m. Judson is an NAIA school located in Elgin, Ill. The Eagles enter the weekend 2-0 after posting a 1-0 over Northwestern College (MN) and a 3-0 victory over Spring Arbor (MI).
