Luther drops 3-2 decision to uw-platteville

The Luther College men's soccer team dropped a 3-2 decision to UW-Platteville here in Decorah this afternoon.
The Norse jumped out to a 2-0 lead 30 minutes into the match, only to see the Pioneers score three unanswered goals en route to the victory.
Jackson Stalberger scored his second goal in as many matches at 18:34. The goal was set up by a corner kick that bounced around in front of the net and landed right in front of Stalberger who buried it in the back of the net. Melchor Quezada recorded his first collegiate goal, a rocket from deep in the right corner, at 30:36. Quezada was assisted by Adam Dane (1).
Platteville responded with goals at 42:04, 49:00 and the game winner at 75:46. Cole Aschenbrenner drove in the game winner past Norse goalkeeper Steve O'Meara in the upper right had corner of the net, off a long cross from Mario Millonzi who was deep on the left side of the field.
The loss snapped Luther's two-match win streak and is now 5-7-1 overall. Platteville moved to 8-6-2 on the season.
The Norse will return to action tomorrow when they will travel to St. Peter, Minn. to face Gustavus Adolphus College. This final non-conference match of the year will begin at 3:30 p.m.
