Luther falls to #23 Wheaton 4-0

Nationally ranked #23 Wheaton College did all of its damage in the first half as the Thunder took nine shots and four found the back of the Luther net en route to a 4-0 victory in the Bob Baptista Invitational. The Thunder scored at 5:52, 14:16, 34:33 and 43:48.

The Norse played much better in the second frame out shooting the Thunder 8-3 but could not get a shot past Thunder keeper Kit Carson. Dickson Kwatampora replaced Steve O'Meara in goal in the second half and stopped both shots the Thunder placed on goal.

Luther's four shots on goal came off the feet of Adam Pyzdrowski, James Laroque and Guilherme Castro.

The loss drops Luther's overall record to 0-1-1. Wheaton is now 1-1-0.

Luther will return to action tomorrow when it will play Judson University (IL) at 2:00 p.m. In its opening match of the invitational, Judson defeated Taylor University 6-4.
