Norse Win sixth in a row - hess sets school record for stolen bases

Luther won its sixth game in a row defeating Iowa Conference opponent Buena Vista University 7-1 this afternoon in Tucson, Arizona. The Norse scored seven runs on 11 hits and now hitting .368 as a team.
Anna Simonson, Kim Hess, Abby Christian and Kayla Denner all recorded two hits. Kelsey Hake, who drove in Luther's first two runs in the bottom of the first inning, was credited with the win. Hake pitched four innings, allowed one run, struck out two and walked three.
Hess, who entered the season with 41 career stolen bases, swiped two in this ball game and set the school record. Her career total now stands at 49. Holly Wendt, who played for the Norse from 1997-2000 held the old mark of 48.
Luther will wrap up its annual spring trip to Tucson, Arizona with a double header against St. Olaf College tomorrow. The Norse will return home and begin their conference schedule at Central College on Wednesday, April 1.
