Luther finishes second at iiac tournament

Luther wrapped up the 2009 Iowa Conference Tournament with a second place finish after dropping an 11-6 decision to Coe College. The victory secured the tournament title for the Kohawks.
Luther jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the third, but the lead was short lived, as Coe responded with eight runs in the bottom half of the same frame. The Norse also scored three runs in the fifth, while Coe tallied a run in the fifth and two in the sixth.
Danielle Armbruster and Lauran Snyder both tallied two rbi. Armbruster drove in her two runs with a single to left field in the third. Snyder hit a two-run double to right center field in the fifth.
The loss gives the Norse an overall record of 33-9. Luther will find out this coming Monday, May 4 at 10:00 a.m. if they will get an invite to the NCAA III National Tournament.
