Luther eliminated from ncaa tournament - finish season at 35-11

Luther's season came to an end this afternoon as Washington University - St. Louis eliminated the Norse from the NCAA III National Tournament. The Bears scored nine runs on 13 hits and defeated the Norse 9-0.

The Bears sophomore pitcher Claire Voris threw a two-hit shutout, striking out five and not issuing a walk. Tiffany Kruse recorded both hits for the Norse, a double in the second inning and a single to center field in the seventh.

Leading 4-0 entering the top half of the seventh, the Bears exploded for five runs on seven hits en route to the final tally.

Luther completes the 2009 campaign with an overall record of 35-11. Luther's 30-plus win season was its third in a row. Luther was also making its second appearance in the national tournament in the past two years.
