Luther posts eighth win of the year - Kruse drives in five runs

Tiffany Kruse had a huge game driving in five runs as Luther posted its eighth win of the season. The Norse scored seven runs on 10 hits en route to a 7-2 victory over the College of St. Catherine in the first of two games today in Tucson, Arizona.
Kruse, who was 3-for-3, hit a two-run home run in the third inning and a solo shot in the fifth. She also drove in a run in the sixth with a sacrifice fly to left field. Her home runs were her fourth and fifth of the season.
Anna Simonson and Kim Hess also had a multiple hit game. Simonson was 2-for-4, while Hess was 2-for-2. Both scored twice. Hess was also credited with four stolen bases and is now four away from setting the school record. Hess has a career total of 45, three shy of Holly Wendt's '00 career record of 48.
Kelsey Hake saw her first action of the season in the circle and picked up her first collegiate win. Hake pitched six solid innings allowing two runs on eight hits and struck out seven.
The Norse will continue play this afternoon when they will face Pacific University.
