Luther Blanks St. Mary's 9-0 in six Remains Undefeated

Luther, ranked #6 in the nation, remained undefeated after posting a 9-0 victory over St. Mary's University (MN) this morning in Tucson, Ariz. The win increased Luther's overall record to 5-0.
Head Coach Renae Hartl's middle of the order was a combined 4-for-8 and drove in eight of the nine runs. Tiffany Kruse had a huge game in the clean-up slot, going 2-for-3 while driving in four rbi. Kruse drove in one run in the first and three in the sixth, thanks to her third home run of the season, a shot over the center field fence.
Lauran Snyder, batting in the third slot, was 1-for-2 with two rbi, while Kelsey Hake, who batted fifth, was 1-for-3 and also drove in two runs.
Kayla Denner also produced multiple hits with a 2-for-2 performance. Denner and Anna Simonson both scored twice.
BreAnn VanDeer picked up her third win of the season pitching four scoreless innings. VanDeer has yet to allow an earned run in 16 innings of work. Kim Lambert pitched the final two innings and struck out three.
The Norse will continue action tomorrow at the Tucson Invitational Games with games against Gustavus Adolphus and North Central (IL).
