Luther pounds out 26 hits - sweeps Viterbo University

Nationally ranked #4 Luther pounded out 26 hits this afternoon en route to impressive 16-1 and 13-3 victories over Viterbo University in La Crosse, Wis. Both games went five innings. The two wins gives Luther an overall record of 26-4, 19-1 against non-conference opponents.
Lauran Snyder led the offensive attack in game one producing five rbi. Snyder drove in three runs in the second inning with her second home run of the year. Kelsey Hake and Rolanda Jacobs also had multiple rbi performances as they were credited with two each.
BreAnn VanDeer picked up the win pitching four scoreless innings. VanDeer faced 17 batters, spread four hits and struck out four.
Danielle Armbruster was 3-for-4 with seven rbi in game two. Armbruster drove in three runs with a home run in the second and three more with a double in the third. Jackie Miller drove in two runs while going 2-for-3 at the plate.
Ashlie Patten went the distance in the circle en route to her first win of the season. Patten allowed two earned runs, allowed three hits, walked one and struck out three.
The Norse will return to Iowa Conference action this Saturday when they will travel to Loras College. This double header will begin at 2:00 p.m.
