Dolan Sets School Record in 1,000 Meters

Katie Dolan broke a 28-year old school record in the 1,000 meter run during the alumni meet held Feb. 7. Dolan's time of 3:02.82, was two seconds faster than the previous mark of 3:04.54 set by Loree Haugland in 1981.
Dolan edged out teammate Dani Meirick who also broke the old mark with a time of 3:03.64. The nearest competitor to these two was Lauren Mitchell of Iowa Central who crossed the finish line at 3:14.53.
This was the opening weekend for the Norse. Luther won the event with a point total of 137 points. Iowa Central was second with 97, while the Alumni tallied 35 points. A total of 56 alumni returned for the weekend's festivities.
Luther will return to action when both the men's and women's teams will travel to Carleton College for the Meet of Hearts Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 14
